Job Role and Responsibility: AMD, Inc., is hiring Sr. Product Development Engineer to research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Perform definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development. Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation. Define module interfaces/formats for simulation. Debug test infrastructure issues including test hardware and software. Implement ATE platforms and debug test issues on hardware, software, and product specific IP. Perform the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Work with cross-functional teams including engineers to develop ASIC/layout design, working on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance. Exercise independent judgment to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of or wide-ranging experience with computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, design techniques, tools, and principles to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.

Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related field.

Position requires experience in the following:
  • Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL;
  • C, C++, or Python;
  • Developing test automation;
  • Debug and execute test programs;
  • RTL analysis;
  • EDA or CAD tools; and
  • Design flows and methodologies used for chip verification.

Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, of internship experience.
