Test Automation Engineer

On Site/Remote: Hybrid Role - Mechanicsburg, PA (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

Duration: 6 months contract to hire - no visa sponsorship available

 

Job Description:

Client is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile logistics program. Accuracy, integrity, willingness to learn, and the ability to work well independently and with others are important traits we expect the successful candidate to possess and demonstrate.

 

As a Test Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Creating, maintaining, improving, and integrating automated tests into the software at every layer, including unit, integration and end-to-end.
  • Mentoring software developers and analysts on test automation to improve overall Quality Assurance practices.
  • Contributing to the design, development, test, and modifications of high-quality software.
  • Maintaining as well as modernizing legacy software into a cloud environment using GitOps and Continuous Delivery.
  • Evaluating and understanding complex interfaces and architecture.
  • Communicating and collaborating effectively with internal and external developers and stakeholders.
  • Developing technical documentation for knowledge sharing and maintenance guides.

 

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree, and at least four years of related work experience, preferred. Will also consider, associate s degree and at least six years of related/relevant work experience or high school diploma and at least 8 years of related/relevant work experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with diverse work teams
  • Experience with .NET Framework and/or .NET Core using C# and TypeScript
  • Experience with unit, Application Programming Interface (API), and/or end-to-end (E2E) automated testing
  • Understanding of trunk-based development using git

 

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills.

  • Strong testing mindset
  • Experience with Playwright (or other E2E testing tools)
  • Experience with Postman (or other API testing tools)
  • Experience implementing test automation
  • Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in Azure Dev Ops or GitLab
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies using Azure Dev Ops, GitLab, or Jira
  • Working knowledge of Oracle and/or Postgres databases
  • IAT Level II cybersecurity certification (i.e., Security+)
