Job Title: Axway API Gateway SME

Location: US Remote

Executive Technical Advisor

·         Act as the trusted technical advisor for Client leadership and the API Gateway organization.

·         Establish strong relationships across Engineering, Security, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Application Development teams.

·         Provide strategic guidance regarding API management trends, modernization opportunities, and emerging technologies.

·         Translate technical challenges into actionable business recommendations for leadership.

·         Facilitate executive briefings, roadmap reviews, quarterly business reviews, and strategic planning sessions.

Platform Strategy & Roadmap Leadership

·         Partner with client leadership to define and execute the multi-year API platform vision and roadmap.

·         Drive strategic initiatives involving:

o    Axway platform modernization

o    API lifecycle management

o    API Marketplace adoption

o    API governance maturity

o    Cloud enablement

o    Infrastructure modernization

o    Security modernization

·         Align Axway product capabilities with enterprise business objectives and regulatory requirements.

·         Influence future platform investments and architectural decisions.

API Governance & Security Leadership

·         Serve as a subject matter expert for API governance and security best practices.

·         Advise on:

o    OAuth 2.0

o    JWT authentication

o    API Key management

o    Access controls

o    API lifecycle governance

o    API inventory management

o    Data classification strategies

·         Assist in developing enterprise governance standards and API operating models.

·         Support audit, compliance, security review, and risk management activities.

Technical Escalation Management

·         Own executive-level escalation management for critical production incidents.

·         Coordinate engagement between Axway product engineering, support, and client operational teams.

·         Lead root cause reviews and corrective action planning.

·         Ensure timely resolution of platform-impacting issues.

·         Provide proactive recommendations to improve resilience and reduce recurring incidents.

Platform Reliability & Service Assurance

·         Review and advise on:

o    Platform health trends

o    Incident patterns

o    MTTR reduction strategies

o    Capacity planning

o    Availability improvements

o    Operational efficiency

·         Recommend improvements to monitoring, alerting, and observability practices.

·         Assist with disaster recovery and resiliency planning.

Cloud & Infrastructure Modernization

·         Support large-scale platform transformation initiatives.

·         Provide technical guidance and risk assessments for:

o    AWS DMZ migrations

o    On-premises modernization efforts

o    Ingress controller migrations

o    Security architecture improvements

o    High-availability designs

·         Collaborate with cloud engineering and infrastructure teams to ensure successful delivery of strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Experience

·         10+ years of enterprise middleware, API Management, integration, or platform engineering experience.

·         7+ years supporting enterprise customers in TAM, Solution Architect, Customer Success, Platform Engineering, or Consulting roles.

·         Experience managing strategic customer relationships at Director and Executive levels.

·         Proven experience leading enterprise-scale modernization efforts and complex technical programs.
