Role: ETL QA Engineer
Locations: Portland ,OR /Salt Lake City ,UT / WA/ ID / Minneapolis ,MN/ North Dakota / Arkansas - Hybrid
Contract to hire
Job Summary: We're hiring ETL QA Engineers to validate data as it moves from source systems into Snowflake. You'll make sure every load is complete, accurate, and reliable, and you'll help lead database testing efforts for the team. This is a hybrid, contract-to-hire role.
Responsibilities
- Test ETL pipelines and data warehouse loads from source to target
- Write and run advanced SQL to reconcile data, find discrepancies, and check data quality
- Validate transformations, data types, nulls, duplicates, and row counts
- Test slowly changing dimension (SCD) logic
- Build and maintain Python scripts to automate data tests and health checks
- Use Excel and pivot tables to report defects and summarize results
- Coordinate database testing activities and communicate findings to developers and stakeholders
- Track your work in Jira and manage your own backlog in an agile environment
Must-Have Skills
- Advanced SQL
- Experience leading or coordinating database test efforts
- Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables
- Experience writing, running, and automating tests
- Experience with ETL testing and data warehouse validation
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Snowflake
- Python for test automation (pandas, pytest, or SQLAlchemy a plus)
- Familiarity with SCD models (Type 1 and Type 2)
- Jira
- Agile practices
