Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in database administration, optimization, and data retention management. The candidate will be responsible for implementing data retention policies, maintaining database performance, and collaborating with application teams and stakeholders to ensure database integrity, compliance, and operational efficiency.



Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and support data retention policies across SQL Server databases in coordination with application teams.

  • Develop and maintain custom SQL scripts for data retention, archival, and cleanup activities.

  • Collaborate with application teams to analyze data dependencies and implement retention logic without impacting application performance.

  • Monitor and maintain database performance, availability, and security.

  • Perform database optimization and tuning to ensure efficient query performance and system stability.

  • Lead technical discussions with stakeholders to recommend database improvements and design changes.

  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory requirements.

  • Troubleshoot database issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.

  • Maintain documentation related to database configurations, retention policies, and operational procedures.

  • Support database maintenance tasks such as backup, recovery, patching, and performance monitoring.




Required Skills

  • Strong experience in SQL Server Database Administration.

  • Proficiency in MS SQL Server, SQL scripting, and query optimization.

  • Experience implementing data retention, archival, and data cleanup strategies.

  • Knowledge of database performance tuning and monitoring tools.

  • Understanding of database integrity, security, and compliance standards.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.




Preferred Skills

  • Experience in Application Maintenance & Support (AMS) environments.

  • Familiarity with data governance and regulatory compliance frameworks.

  • Experience with database automation and monitoring tools.




Soft Skills

  • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

  • Ability to lead discussions and provide technical recommendation
