Position: Oracle Database Specialist Level III
Location: 40 North Pearl Street, Albany, NY
Duration: 1+ Years

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Level III: More than 12 years of experience working on complex projects, with at least 2 years in a leadership role as a Specialist

• More than 7 years of experience administering and supporting databases

• Experience with:

  • Installation of database software

  • Applying Patch Set Updates

  • Disk storage management

• 2 5 years of experience installing, administering, and supporting:

  • Oracle Database 12c or later

  • PostgreSQL

Desirable Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in Oracle DBA (installation, patching, ASM disk storage)

• Experience with:

  • Replication, backup, and recovery strategies (RTO/RPO)

  • Database performance tuning (DB, memory, SQL queries)

  • Database security standards and configurations (HIPAA, SOX, regulatory compliance)

  • Microsoft SQL Server administration

  • High Availability solutions and client connectivity

  • OLTP, OLAP, and high-volume transaction systems

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for database management and support

• Perform database maintenance, enhancements, and physical database design

• Conduct database performance tuning

• Plan storage, CPU, memory, and network capacity requirements

• Perform regular database backups and restores

• Evaluate database components for non-functional requirements

• Provide technical and architectural DBA support for the IES Program

• Follow ITIL-compliant methodologies for service delivery

• Create and maintain documentation for installations and implementations

• Support new technology initiatives

• Participate in troubleshooting technical issues

• Perform other duties as assigned
