Job Description:
Perform vulnerability remediation and security patching on Linux virtual machines (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, and SUSE).
Apply OS patches, kernel updates, and security fixes in accordance with compliance requirements.
Analyze and remediate vulnerabilities identified by tools such as Qualys, Tenable, or Rapid7.
Troubleshoot issues related to patching, package dependencies, kernel upgrades, and system services.
Manage Linux VMs in VMware and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
Automate routine remediation tasks using Bash scripting, Python, or Ansible.
Coordinate with application teams during maintenance windows and post-patch validation.
Implement Linux security hardening and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
Monitor system performance, logs, and health following remediation activities.
Maintain documentation and provide remediation status updates to stakeholders.
Required Skills:
Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, SUSE)
Hands-on experience with vulnerability remediation and patch management
Knowledge of Qualys, Tenable, or Rapid7 vulnerability scanning tools
Experience with Bash scripting and automation tools such as Ansible
Familiarity with VMware virtualization and cloud platforms
Understanding of Linux security hardening, networking, and troubleshooting
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
