Job Description
Client is seeking an experienced Data Architect with a strong background in financial services, banking, and lending portfolios to support the development of a Portfolio Management Dashboard for a specialized financial loan portfolio and credit solutions platform.
This role will be responsible for designing and implementing the data architecture, engineering data pipelines, leveraging AI-powered document extraction capabilities, and ensuring high-quality data is available for portfolio analytics and reporting. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise in modern data platforms with a deep understanding of lending and loan portfolio data structures. This is an initial 3-month engagement supporting a strategic initiative with likely extension through 2027.
Key Responsibilities
Data Architecture & Modeling
- Design and implement scalable data architecture supporting financial portfolio management and reporting requirements.
- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for loan portfolio data.
- Define data governance, quality standards, and best practices for data management.
- Partner with business stakeholders to translate lending and portfolio management requirements into technical solutions.
Data Engineering
- Build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using modern cloud-based data technologies.
- Integrate data from multiple internal and external sources into a centralized reporting platform.
- Perform data cleansing, transformation, enrichment, and validation activities.
- Optimize data pipelines for scalability, performance, and reliability.
AI-Powered Document Extraction
- Develop and manage AI-driven processes for extracting structured and semi-structured data from policy and financial documents.
- Leverage Databricks and AI/ML capabilities to automate data capture and classification.
- Design monitoring and validation processes to ensure extraction accuracy and data quality.
- Collaborate with business users to continuously improve extraction models and business rules.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with Business Analysts to validate requirements, define data definitions, and resolve data quality issues.
- Partner with BI Developers to enable downstream reporting, dashboards, and analytics solutions.
- Support testing, validation, and deployment activities throughout the project lifecycle.
- Act as a trusted advisor on data strategy, architecture, and financial data management.
Required Qualifications:
Technical Skills
- 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering and/or Data Architecture roles.
- Strong proficiency in:
o Python
o SQL
o Databricks
o Data Modeling
o ETL/ELT Development
o AI/ML-powered document processing solutions
- Experience designing enterprise-scale data architectures.
- Expertise in data quality, data governance, and metadata management practices.
- Strong understanding of cloud-based data platforms and modern analytics architectures.
Financial Services Experience:
- Hands-on experience within:
o Banking
o Commercial Lending
o Consumer Lending
o Loan Portfolio Management
o Credit Risk or Portfolio Analytics
- Strong understanding of lending products, loan lifecycle data, and financial reporting requirements.
- Experience with portfolio-level analytics and regulatory or management reporting preferred.

Business Drivers/Customer Impact
3 month effort for RAR Portfolio Management Dashboard. This is a bespoke product focused on financial loan portfolios. Likely to be extended through 2027.
1 component is extracting data from policy documents with AI. Will do this on databricks platform
Skillsets needed:
- Someone with a strong data and finance background would be ideal candidate. Banking and lending vs. corporate finance
- Data architect requirement as well as data engineer or AI engineer that can manage extraction process as well as data cleansing. Ideally want this to be the same person. Python, SQL, AI, Databricks (tech stack)
- Business Analyst to help with validation, scoping
- BI developer for the report build (Want data modeling and engineering to kick off simultaneously, and BI dev can join after first phase of work)
- 1 components that is AI process, data modeling and data capture, other 2nd part is reporting and distribution.
- Data engineering talent with financial backgournd, business analyst and BI developer. Whoever has the finance background can help with data model and data architecture. Whatever blend of skills we can find.
