• Location: 100% Remote; must live within driving distance of Linthicum Heights, Maryland for occasional meetings
• Contract: W2 only, 6-12 month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full time with either the client or CEI
• Pay: $55+ /hour + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match

Overview

This role supports program teams by building, maintaining, and updating detailed project schedules that help keep work on track and teams aligned. You’ll work closely with cross-functional stakeholders and subcontractors to manage timelines, track key milestones, and provide clear schedule visibility. The position focuses on maintaining an integrated master schedule in support of contract requirements and ongoing program execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed program schedules aligned with contractual requirements.
• Build and manage schedules using Microsoft Project and Primavera P6.
• Define task logic, durations, dependencies, float, and critical path.
• Perform schedule status updates and variance analysis.
• Coordinate schedule activities with customers and subcontractors; integrate subcontractor schedules into the program IMS.
• Track milestones, key events, and internal/external dependencies.
• Produce schedule variance reports including root cause and mitigation forecasting.
• Provide weekly schedule performance reports and monthly cost and schedule performance reports to program leadership.
• Maintain schedule.
• Produce schedule metrics.
• Produce schedule reports.

Required Skills

• 4–7 years of program or project scheduling experience.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Microsoft Project.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with Primavera P6 (must have both, no exception).
• Working knowledge of Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS).
• Working knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM).
• Working knowledge of schedule performance metrics.
• Experience supporting contract-driven programs with formal reporting requirements.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency with both Microsoft Project and Primavera P6.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting government or DoD programs.
• Familiarity with EVMS principles.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Program management skill or certification.
• Construction or software scheduling background.
• Industry experience as an experienced Program Scheduler with the ability to translate words into activities.
• Willingness to travel 1 to 4 times per year.
• Ability to work a Monday–Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST schedule.
