Model Base FPGA Engineer - REMOTE

Job Description

A REMOTE Model Base FPGA Engineer position is available at Belcan supporting one of our aerospace customers. We are seeking FPGA Engineers with at least 5 years of experience in front end Model based design experience.

Job Duties:
* Front end development of FPGA designs in a model based work flow.
* Lead design reviews, failure investigations, and root cause analysis activities.
* Interface directly with suppliers, fabrication and assembly partners, and certification authorities as required.
* Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design documents, requirements.
* Complete synthesis, place and route, managing constraints to meet fitment and timing goals

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
* Due to the nature of the projects supported, U.S. Person (Perm Res/) is required.
* 5+ years of experience in frontend / model based design for high-reliability or regulated industries, preferably aerospace or defense.
* 5+ years of FPGA design experience, preferably in aerospace or other safety-critical industries
* Strong proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink for algorithm development and system modeling
* Experience with HDL and FPGA toolchains (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, Microsemi Libero )
* Strong background in high-speed digital design,
* Hands-on experience with HDL Coder and auto-code generation workflows
* Knowledge of requirements management and traceability tools (e.g., DOORS)
* Background in radiation effects mitigation or high-reliability design practices
* Experience with the documentation rigors of a regulated industry. Developing S.M.A.R.T. requirements, design documentation, verification plans, etc.
* Results oriented, able to effectively drive the project and lead a small group of engineers
* Technical leadership and decision-making capability.
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
* Exceptional attention to detail and documentation discipline.
* Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to stakeholders.
* Collaborative mindset with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
* Results oriented, able to effectively drive the project and lead a small group of engineers

Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $110,000 to $185,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
