Our client is a rapidly scaling, Series-B backed FinTech pioneer that is fundamentally transforming the way modern finance teams manage their revenue operations. By leveraging a cutting-edge, AI-driven automation platform, they streamline the entire contract-to-cash lifecycle-from automated billing and invoicing to intricate revenue reconciliation.
Following a massive year of growth that saw the company scale from 35 to 125 employees and secure major enterprise accounts, they are expanding their engineering division from 37 to 50 developers. To support this growth, our client is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to serve as a critical technical anchor in their SoHo headquarters. This is a high-visibility, "floating" technical leadership role designed for an engineer who wants to remain deeply hands-on while bringing structure, maturity, and technical mentorship to a talented, fast-growing team.

responsibilities:
- Architect & Build: Own and drive complex technical projects end-to-end, from high-level systems architecture through execution and production-grade deployment.
- Scale Core Infrastructure: Design and optimize highly reliable, secure, and performant full-stack systems capable of handling massive financial data pipelines and AI-driven workflows.
- Anchor & Mentor: Serve as a foundational technical presence across a 37-person engineering organization, raising the bar on code quality, testing, and modern engineering best practices.
- Collaborate Internationally: Partner closely with executive leadership, the VP of Engineering, and product teams to translate business priorities into robust technical execution.
- Shape Engineering Culture: Introduce structure and architectural maturity into a dynamic, rapidly growing startup environment without sacrificing velocity.
qualifications:
- 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a proven track record of architecting and shipping high-impact SaaS or cloud-native products.
- Strong Full-Stack Expertise: Advanced, hands-on production experience utilizing TypeScript and React on the front end, backed by modern backend architecture.
- Deep, hands-on infrastructure experience building, deploying, and monitoring scalable systems within AWS.
- A strong command of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems design principles.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity, operating effectively in resource-constrained environments, and establishing engineering standards from the ground up.
