Fraud Prevention & Analytics - Sr Info Sec Threat Hunting Specialist II

The Sr Info Sec Threat Hunting Specialist identifies, analyzes, and reports on fraudulent activity and hidden threats targeting external clients. Under general supervision, this job uses defensive measures, digital forensic techniques, and information collected from a variety of sources to protect clients' accounts, personal data, and the organization's digital platforms from account takeover, new account fraud, and related threats. This job also works to improve fraud detection and prevention systems by continually monitoring both internal control environments and the external fraud threat landscape, while conducting root cause analysis on fraud events and developing strategies to block and alert on suspicious activity.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Identifies and investigates fraudulent activity and anomalous behavior affecting external clients, including account takeover, fraudulent new account creation and fraudulent enrollment, by analyzing account activity, login patterns, transaction data, and customer behavior across digital, IVR, and call center channels.
  • Utilizes digital forensic tools and techniques, including behavioral biometrics, device fingerprinting, and identity verification signals, to detect fraud indicators, reconstruct fraud events, and preserve evidence for investigation.
  • Evaluates multi-factor authentication events, IVR/call center interactions, and deepfake detection tools to identify authentication bypass attempts, social engineering, caller impersonation, and synthetic media used to commit fraud.
  • Conducts research and analysis of source data sets and identified fraudulent activity to determine root cause, attack patterns, and control gaps.
  • Performs root cause analysis on confirmed fraud events and develops, refines, and implements fraud prevention strategies, including blocking rules, alerting logic, and detection models to reduce future losses.
  • Collaborates with technology, fraud operations, and product teams to test and implement new fraud detection and prevention controls, while ensuring consistent compliance with enterprise fraud, security, and privacy policies and regulations.
  • Maintains a deep understanding of the customer account lifecycle and control environment and continually monitors internal fraud trends and the external threat landscape to proactively protect customer accounts.

Educational Requirements
  • University (Degree) Preferred

  • Experience with Splunk, Tableau, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
  • Experience in root cause analysis
  • Experience in link analysis
  • Experience in alerting and case management systems

Base Pay Range: $92,400/yr - $112,000/yr

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
