  • Provide technical leadership through design reviews, code quality standards, troubleshooting, mentoring, and implementation oversight
  • Design and optimize SQL schemas, queries, stored procedures, reporting structures, and data migration strategies
  • Ensure support for complex grants workflows, auditability, compliance reporting, role-based access, and configuration needs
  • Evaluate legacy components and guide modernization strategies while preserving business continuity
  • Partner with implementation, support, and operations teams to resolve production issues and improve performance and release readiness
  • Assess technical debt, integration requirements, and platform constraints; recommend architecture improvements
  • Contribute to estimation, risk management, environment strategy, and technical communication with stakeholders

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership as a technical lead, solution architect, or application architect
  • Proven experience building or evolving configurable software products used by multiple customers or jurisdictions
  • Strong SQL expertise, including schema design, performance tuning, complex queries, and enterprise data modeling
  • Experience with architecture for workflow-driven systems, rules/configuration frameworks, reporting, and integrations
  • Ability to lead delivery teams while remaining hands-on in technical design and decision-making
  • Experience partnering with product owners or business leaders to shape delivery outcomes
  • Strong understanding of maintainability, scalability, security, performance, and release quality in enterprise software
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, including mentoring and working across cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in grants management, case management, program management, government administration, or nonprofit technology platforms
  • Familiarity with grantor and grantee workflows, compliance reporting, and public-sector audit requirements
  • Experience supporting legacy product modernization in a multi-client production environment
  • Experience with cloud modernization, API integrations, and configurable workflow or business rules engines
  • Experience working with state government or nonprofit clients in the U.S. or Canada
