Summary

Job Description

We are seeking a highly technical hands-on leader to build and lead the global Outsourced Trading Desk (OTD) Technology team. This role owns all technology development and support for the OTD business, serving 20+ desk traders across New York, London, and Hong Kong.

This is a ground-floor leadership opportunity within the global Prime Broker Services Technology group. The successful candidate will initially operate as a solo contributor, delivering immediate value to the business while building out a team of 1-2 members in the near term, growing to 4-6 as the business scales.

Responsibilities:
  • Own the full technology stack supporting the OTD business globally - development, support, and strategic direction
  • Operate hands-on as the primary developer and support contact, building new functionality and maintaining existing workflows from day one
  • Partner directly with OTD traders and business leadership across New York, London, and Hong Kong to understand needs and deliver solutions
  • Design and develop trading tools, reporting dashboards, data pipelines, and workflow automation for the desk
  • Provide production support coverage, troubleshooting issues and ensuring continuity of trading operations
  • Build and grow the OTD technology team - recruit, mentor, and manage 1-2 direct reports initially, scaling to 4-6 over time
  • Coordinate with the broader Prime Broker Services Technology group on shared platform components, architecture standards, and release processes
  • Define the technology roadmap for OTD, balancing tactical business requests with longer-term platform improvements

Qualifications/ Experience:
  • Strong hands-on software engineering skills across multiple languages and platforms: Java, C#/.NET, SQL Server, Python, and scripting languages
  • Experience building reporting and analytics solutions using tools such as Power BI, Qlik, or similar BI platforms
  • Financial services technology background with direct exposure to trading desks, execution workflows, or prime brokerage operations
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently - self-directed, resourceful, and comfortable owning problems end-to-end
  • Experience managing or building small engineering teams, with strong people leadership and mentoring skills
  • Ability to support a global user base across US, EMEA, and APAC time zones
  • Excellent communication skills - able to work directly with traders and translate business needs into technical deliverables

Additional Skills / Preferred:
  • Direct experience with outsourced trading, execution management systems (EMS/OMS), or multi-asset trading workflows
  • Experience with data visualization and desk-level reporting for front-office users
  • Background in building teams from scratch - hiring, establishing processes, and scaling delivery capacity
  • Familiarity with messaging systems (Kafka, FIX protocol), real-time data, and trade lifecycle systems
  • Track record of thriving in fast-paced, trader-facing environments where responsiveness and reliability are critical
  • Bachelor's degree is required preferably in Computer Science. Advanced degree is a plus but not required.

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range of $200,000 - $275,000.
