A Full Service IT Employment Consulting Firm is seeking qualified candidates for the following opening:
QA Tester
The QA Tester is responsible for delivery of thoroughly tested applications to production. QA Tester helps manage the functional, day to day manual and automated testing activities and co-ordinates with performance and load testing teams for the delivery of testing. This role has no supervisory responsibilities and reports to the IT QA Manager.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop and execute test cases, both manual and automated; develop release test plans; monitor and instruct test resources on proper procedures to ensure team compliance, status reporting to manager, coordinate issue resolution.
- Assist others in estimating task effort and dependencies.
- Communicate (verbal and written) with management, on the progress of the release period and testing efforts.
- Prepare test estimates.
- Identify and communicate risks and issues.
- Create and review test plans and test cases ensuring alignment with standards.
- Verify the availability of the QA environment for testing.
- Prepare metrics and report test findings.
- Ensure that all system tests are successfully completed and documented, and all problems are resolved.
- Where appropriate, advice on User Acceptance Testing for projects/releases.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with other IT Services, IT Solutions functions and customers to expedite delivery of IT solution.
- Develop and review test scenarios.
- Develop and review test cases/scripts both manual and automated.
- Review Manual and automated test results.
- Review observation/defects daily.
- Conduct tests and analyze results to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and/or client requirements.
- Provide daily test status to the IT QA Manager.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications: the requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or like major or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years QA Testing experience required
- 3+ years of automation experience using tools such as Selenium or any other tools
- Experience using Test Case Management and Defect Managements tools such as JIRA or any other tools
- Ability to manage time well, organize and prioritize
- Proficiency at scheduling testing and meeting delivery deadlines.
- Ability to build good relationships both within the Test team and with other teams
- Excellent knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle
- Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change
- Must be able to repeat testing tasks multiple times without missing quality issues
- Ability to escalate accurately and in a timely and efficient manner
