1) Must possess advanced Ansible experience including development of complex playbooks, automation frameworks, reusable roles, orchestration workflows, and infrastructure lifecycle automation.
2) Strong Python development skills required. Consultant must be comfortable creating automation scripts, API integrations, custom tooling, and extending automation capabilities where Ansible alone is insufficient.
3) Terraform/OpenTofu: Experience designing, building, and maintaining Infrastructure-as-Code solutions. Resource will support automation of virtual infrastructure provisioning and assist Walgreens as they migrate from Terraform toward OpenTofu.
4) Experience designing large-scale automation solutions across server, network, storage, cloud, and platform layers. Resource should understand how to automate operational processes rather than simply deploy infrastructure.
5) Enterprise Consulting / Architecture: Must be capable of operating independently in customer-facing environments, leading technical discussions, gathering requirements, providing architecture guidance, and driving delivery activities with minimal oversight.

Job Description.

The consultant will support a Private Cloud Landing Zone initiative focused on automating infrastructure provisioning, Day 1 and Day 2 operations, ServiceNow integrations, configuration management, self-service capabilities, and infrastructure lifecycle automation.

This resource will work directly with Walgreens engineering teams, Dell architects, project managers, and enterprise architects to design and implement automation solutions leveraging Ansible, Python, OpenTofu/Terraform, CI/CD tooling, APIs, and platform integrations.

Daily responsibilities may include:
Developing and enhancing Ansible automation
Building infrastructure automation using Terraform/OpenTofu
Integrating automation workflows into ServiceNow
Supporting VM lifecycle automation within OpenStack environments
Building API integrations between enterprise platforms
Supporting CI/CD orchestration workflows
Working directly with customer engineering teams
Participating in architecture and design sessions
Providing documentation and knowledge transfer

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Strong Linux administration background
Experience integrating infrastructure automation with ITSM platforms
Experience working within Agile delivery methodologies
Ability to translate business requirements into technical automation solutions
Experience automating VM provisioning, configuration management, and operational processes
Exposure to private cloud platforms preferred
Strong communication and client-facing consulting skills required
Experience supporting enterprise-scale environments preferred
Knowledge of ServiceNow CMDB, Asset Management, Request Management, and Change Management integrations is highly desirable
Experience with OpenStack APIs, Juju, or Canonical ecosystems preferred but not required
Experience with Harness developer portals or self-service infrastructure solutions preferred
