Role Overview
Seeking a hands-on Backend Engineer with strong expertise in cloud-native architecture, distributed systems, and big data technologies to support a FinTech client.
You will play a key role in building scalable API platforms and high-performance data services.
Responsibilities
Design and build backend services and APIs for large-scale data systems
Develop distributed systems and microservices architectures
Build and optimize big data pipelines (Hive, Spark, Hadoop, Presto)
Develop RESTful APIs for high-performance data access
Write optimized SQL queries
Leverage AWS services for scalable solutions
Participate in Agile development processes
Improve system performance, scalability, and security
Mentor team members and promote best practices
Required Skills
Bachelor s degree in CS/IT or related field
5+ years of software engineering experience
Strong programming in Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript
3+ years with big data tools (Hadoop, Spark, Presto)
3+ years building REST APIs and working with SQL
3+ years AWS experience (EMR, ECS, Lambda, S3)
Experience with CI/CD (Jenkins, CloudFormation)
Strong knowledge of distributed systems
Preferred Skills
Scripting (Shell, Python, Perl)
Experience with low-latency/high-throughput systems
FinTech or data-heavy domain experience
Knowledge of AWS Well-Architected Framework
Serverless/event-driven architecture experience
