About the Opportunity

Our client is a fast-growing healthcare technology company building a platform that manages patient care from first contact through treatment. They're hiring Senior Full Stack Engineers to own their core product end to end, working across the frontend, the backend and the shared code in between.

The hardest problems here aren't algorithmic. They're about real-world data: patient records that don't match across systems, dates that mean different things in different places, and patients who reschedule or don't answer. The team wants engineers who enjoy modeling that complexity instead of ignoring it.

The Tech Stack

• Frontend: Vue 3 (Composition API), TypeScript, internal component library
• Backend: Node.js, Express, MongoDB/Mongoose
• Architecture: a single monorepo with shared TypeScript packages and contract-first APIs. API schemas are defined once and type-checked on both frontend and backend, so a broken endpoint fails the build instead of reaching production.

What You'll Do

• Build user-facing screens in Vue 3 with the internal component library
• Design and build contract-first API routes with schemas shared across the stack
• Model clinical and patient data in MongoDB and keep it fast as the data grows
• Contribute to shared TypeScript packages that every app in the monorepo depends on
• Take features from spec to production, and support them after launch

What You Bring

• 5+ years building and shipping production web applications
• Strong TypeScript on both frontend and backend
• Hands-on Vue 3 experience (required; this role works in Vue every day)
• Backend experience with Node.js, Express and MongoDB/Mongoose
• A solid understanding of query performance, indexing and schema design at scale
• The ability to weigh the tradeoffs and weaknesses of your tools, not just their features
• Experience designing systems for growth you couldn't fully predict, and lessons learned from doing it
• A track record of improving large existing codebases without rewriting them

Nice to Have

• Healthcare domain knowledge: clinical workflows, care pathways, patient journeys
• Health data integration: HL7, FHIR, EHR connectivity
• Twilio, LiveKit or the OpenAI API
• Monorepo tools such as Turborepo or Nx
• Real-time or streaming applications
• Workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal, Cadence or AWS Step Functions
• Cloud experience: AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform

Work Environment

• A distributed team with hybrid offices in NYC and Canada with regular on-site presence required
• Collaborative culture with weekly team syncs and pair programming (camera on during meetings)
