Job DetailsWe are seeking a Component/Parts Engineer to support a medical device platform during DVT and production release phases. This is not a product design engineering role - the focus is on parts, components, manufacturability, supplier coordination, and risk reduction to ensure designs are production-ready.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and support release of electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical components/parts
- Evaluate component lifecycle risks (Active, NRND, EOL), supplier availability, and alternate sourcing
- Review mechanical drawings for GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, manufacturability, and DFM/DFA concerns
- Work closely with Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and suppliers to resolve component and production issues
- Support design transfer and manufacturing readiness activities
- Ensure component documentation, compliance, traceability, and PLM/ERP data accuracy (Propel / NetSuite)
Key Requirements:
- 5+ years in Component Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Hardware Support, or similar role
- Strong experience working with parts/components rather than full product design ownership
- Ability to review drawings, tolerances, datasheets, and manufacturability concerns
- Understanding of machining, molding, sheet metal, and supplier manufacturing capabilities
- Experience in regulated industries preferred (medical device highly preferred)
- Familiarity with DVT, design release, and production ramp processes
- Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and component risk mitigation
