In this role, you will design and build intelligent tooling and automation that improves both engineering productivity and content operations across Instructional Products. You'll work across applications, frameworks, services, and content platforms to identify opportunities where AI-powered workflows can meaningfully improve quality, efficiency, and scalability.\n\nYou will prototype and productionize systems that leverage agentic coding workflows, automation pipelines, and AI-driven content processing to streamline development and publishing processes. Success in this role requires strong engineering fundamentals, systems thinking, and the ability to translate emerging technologies into reliable tools used by multiple teams.\n\nThis position combines hands-on software development with technical leadership, partnering closely with engineering, quality, design, and content teams to modernize workflows while maintaining Apple's high standards for craftsmanship and user experience.
5 or more years of professional software engineering experience delivering production systems.\nHands-on experience using agentic systems to accelerate software development and/or operational workflows.\nStrong programming expertise in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.\nExperience building modern web applications, APIs, or backend services.\nExperience developing automation systems, developer tooling, or workflow platforms.\nExperience designing scalable solutions that integrate across multiple systems and teams.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical partners.\nAbility to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with evolving technical priorities.\n
Experience building tools that automate or enhance content creation, publishing, localization, or validation workflows.\nFamiliarity with LLM-powered systems, retrieval pipelines, or structured content transformation workflows.\nExperience building internal platforms used by engineers, writers, or operational teams.\nBackground in developer experience (DevEx), CI/CD systems, or large-scale automation initiatives.\nPassion for improving both engineering and content quality through intelligent tooling.\n
