Business Analyst - Curam

We are seeking a senior Business Analyst with Curam experience to support a government agency's systems project. The analyst formulates and defines systems scope and objectives from user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements, then analyzes, validates, and supports implementation of requirements from inception to conclusion.

The analyst partners with leadership to assess current challenges, identify change opportunities, and recommend supporting initiatives. This is a hands-on role that includes leading gap analysis workshops and training sessions, evaluating current processes, and working as an integral member of the project team to resolve every problem associated with the platform.

1.     Systems scope and objectives: Formulate and define systems scope and objectives based on user needs and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements.

2.     Assess and plan: Assess current challenges and partner with leadership to develop strategic plans and initiatives that address priorities.

3.     Change opportunities: Identify change opportunities and recommend supporting initiatives.

4.     Workshops and training: Plan and lead workshops for gap analysis (comparing current processes and systems against what is needed) and training sessions.

5.     Requirements lifecycle: Analyze, validate, and support implementation of requirements for projects from inception to conclusion.

6.     Process evaluation: Evaluate current processes and recommend improvements, optimization, development, or maintenance by analyzing system performance, known system issues, existing documentation, and supporting technology related to business processes.

7.     Procedures and problem solving: Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems, considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operation time, and the form of desired results. This includes analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into system requirements specifications.

8.     Consultation: Provide consultation on complex projects as a top-level contributor and specialist in most phases of systems analysis, while considering the business implications of applying technology to the current and future business environment.

9.     Team ownership: Become an integral part of the project team, taking ownership of every problem associated with the platform and applying initiative and critical thinking to resolve problems and challenges.

1.     Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience; or a current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

2.     16+ years of Business Analyst experience.

3.     16+ years of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) experience.

4.     16+ years of requirements gathering and documentation experience.

5.     16+ years of MS Office/PowerPoint experience.

6.     Professional experience with Curam software version 6 or higher (3 years). Curam is a social program and case management software platform.

7.     Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills (mandatory).

8.     Customer service orientation, strong team and interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi-task when required.

9.     Adaptable, analytical, and goal-oriented, self-starter.

10.   Onsite position; only candidates local to the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) area will be considered.

•       Hands-on Systems/Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience (16 years)

•       Experience producing deliverable-quality documents (4 years)

•       Professional experience with MS Office applications, MS Project, and Visio (6 years)

•       Professional experience with Curam software V6 or higher (3 years)

•       Proven experience driving functional design sessions (4 years)

•       Proven experience with project management methodologies (4 years)

•       Project management experience in change and release management disciplines related to testing, updating, and integrating hardware and software technologies (2 years)

•       Experience working with MicroStrategy, HP Exstream, Tableau, Curam, JIRA, and Salesforce (2 years)
