Summary

MTSI is looking for a talented Missile Defense Lethality Engineer to join our team! In this role you will be part of a best-in-class team in the planning and execution of lethality tests, and analysis of results to inform technical assessments assessments for ballistic missile defense and hypersonic missile defense kill vehicles.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage Department of Energy (DOE) laboratory lethality assessments for Missile Defense Agency ballistic missile defense and hypersonic defense kill vehicles
  • Execute hypervelocity impact testing across multiple test venues and coordinate post-test data recovery, analysis, and reporting
  • Develop comprehensive documentation and deliver presentations detailing kill vehicle assessment methodologies, test results, and analytical findings

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM Field with 7+ years of experience in missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project
  • Active or reinstatable Secret clearance with CNWDI, RD, or FRD eligibility required
  • Strong background in hardware design, system integration, and design engineering, including the ability to generate comprehensive technical data packages
  • Experience leading teams to develop effective solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for preparing high-level reports and leadership briefings
  • Demonstrated experience with missile defense lethality
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools, data analysis software, and lethality Modeling and Simulation (M&S) environments

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering strongly preferred
  • Experience with Light Gas Gun (LGG) lethality testing and associated pre- and post-test analysis
