Summary

HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting GMP utility and HVAC systems that support pharmaceutical manufacturing, laboratories, and cleanroom operations. Ensures reliable operation of critical facility equipment while maintaining compliance with GMP, FDA, and site safety standards.

Responsibilities

·       Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and mechanical systems including AHUs, chillers, boilers, exhaust systems, and cleanroom equipment

·       Support GMP utility systems such as compressed air, chilled water, and building automation systems (BAS/BMS)

·       Perform preventive and corrective maintenance using CMMS work order systems

·       Monitor facility systems to maintain proper temperature, humidity, and pressure conditions

·       Respond to equipment alarms, breakdowns, and emergency maintenance situations

·       Complete GMP documentation, maintenance records, and SOP-related tasks accurately

·       Follow safety procedures including lockout/tagout and GMP compliance standards

·       Assist with equipment startups, shutdowns, audits, and continuous improvement projects

Requirements

·       High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school training preferred

·       3+ years of HVAC, facilities, or industrial maintenance experience

·       Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, food manufacturing, or other regulated environments preferred

·       Knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance practices

·       Familiarity with GMP documentation and regulated facility operations

·       Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and P&IDs

·       Experience with BAS/BMS and CMMS systems preferred

·       EPA Certification or HVAC certification preferred

·       Strong troubleshooting, communication, and teamwork skills

·       Ability to work overtime, weekends, or on-call schedules as needed
