QA Test Lead – OMS Upgrade (Only Visa Independent Candidate only/W2)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced QA Test Lead to support a major Outage Management System (OMS) Upgrade Project within a large electric utility environment. This is a highly specialized role requiring extensive experience testing complex ADMS/OMS platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strong background leading end-to-end QA efforts across enterprise utility applications and collaborating with technical and business stakeholders throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

This position is responsible for driving quality assurance activities from test planning through execution, defect management, regression testing, and production readiness.

 

Required Qualifications

• More than five (5) years of hands-on experience working with large, complex ADMS/OMS environments (MANDATORY).
• Strong preference for experience with GE Vernova (GEV) ADMS v3.11 or higher.
• Demonstrated experience planning, developing, and implementing:
• Test strategies
• Test plans
• Test scenarios
• Comprehensive test cases
• Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTMs)
• Extensive experience executing:
• Functional Testing
• System Integration Testing (SIT)
• User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Regression Testing
• Strong defect lifecycle management including defect documentation, tracking, validation, and retesting.
• Experience working directly with development teams, business analysts, product owners, and project managers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

 

Responsibilities

• Lead quality assurance activities for the OMS Upgrade Project.
• Review business and technical requirements to ensure complete testing coverage.
• Identify testing scope and out-of-scope functionality.
• Develop detailed test strategies and comprehensive testing plans.
• Create detailed test scenarios, user stories, and test cases covering all functional requirements.
• Prepare and validate test data required for execution.
• Develop and maintain Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTMs).
• Upload and maintain test cases within the test management platform.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Document test results with supporting evidence, including screenshots while masking sensitive information.
• Identify, document, and manage software defects through resolution.
• Retest resolved defects and validate fixes.
• Track application downtime and testing metrics.
• Create dashboards and reporting to monitor testing progress and defect status.
• Communicate testing risks, issues, and project impacts to project leadership.
• Collaborate closely with development, business, and operational teams throughout the testing lifecycle.
