Position Summary

This is an onsite role at the Lancaster, NY location.

Parker Hannifin is looking for talented and driven students to strengthen its Mechanical Engineering programs and play an integral role in the current and future success of the organization. This individual will also be tasked with supporting all aspects of environmental management, occupational safety, and environmental, health and safety compliance. This is a hands-on role where you will gain valuable experience in product design and sustaining engineering support that may eventually lead to an entry level position in an engineering career at Parker Hannifin, or to the Parker Hannifin Engineering Leadership Development Program.

SUPERVISION
The Engineering intern will report directly to the Engineering Manager or Product Engineer(s). The Engineering Intern will work with different functional areas to accomplish assigned tasks. The working environment will be a mix of working in an office setting and in a production environment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include assisting new product development and sustaining product engineers, extensive 3D modeling, mechanical design, creating drawings and BOM's for new and current products. Autodesk Inventor preferred, Solidworks acceptable. Other areas will include ECR's, manufacturing processes, MRP system and possible hands-on lab testing.

Education: College Student, minimum Junior level with an engineering degree in progress.

Fundamental knowledge of engineering domain principles, concepts, and techniques.

Fundamental knowledge and use of basic engineering design and analysis tools (e.g. computer-aided design programs) and specialized engineering databases. May require programming skills.

Develops familiarity with products and customer specifications and standards applicable to assigned product line or system.

Ability to communicate status of technical tasks and actions taken with clarity and precision.

Ability to work with general direction and instruction regarding the scope of assignments; determines the priority and order of assignments; and applies judgment in selecting procedures and techniques.
