Senior Java Software Engineer Spring Boot, Google Cloud Platform & Playwright
Overview / Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, backend development, performance testing, and QA automation. The ideal candidate will have extensive software development experience, proficiency in at least one programming language, and hands-on experience with load and performance scripting, Playwright, and automated testing.
The role involves designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to understand their use cases, challenges, and requirements, and advocate for user-focused software solutions.
- Design, develop, test, and deliver software solutions using appropriate programming languages, frameworks, tools, and methodologies, including Agile.
- Evaluate application requirements and determine suitable technology stacks, integration approaches, and deployment strategies.
- Develop high-level software architecture designs that define application structures, components, and interfaces.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, designers, and architects.
- Define and implement software testing strategies, guidelines, policies, and processes aligned with organizational objectives, industry regulations, and best practices.
- Improve application performance, optimize existing solutions, and incorporate technologies that enhance development efficiency.
- Apply software development practices such as test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
- Support security practices that protect user data, including encryption and anonymization.
- Develop user-friendly and interactive interfaces as needed.
- Develop and maintain backend applications, including APIs and microservices, using server-side programming languages.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and capabilities to improve software solutions and support new technology stack layers.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- 10+ years of experience in IT.
- 8+ years of software development experience.
- Senior-level engineering experience, with practical experience in two programming languages or advanced proficiency in one programming language.
- Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience with performance testing and automated scripting.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform Cloud Run.
- Hands-on experience with load and performance scripting.
- Experience in QA automation using Playwright.
- Backend development experience using Java and Spring.
- Willingness to work in the office four days per week.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with React.
- Familiarity with testing tools.
- Experience with load and performance testing and QA automation.
