  • Participate in customer visits, demonstrations, trials, and technical presentations.
  • Support the integration of Mountz products into manufacturing work cells and production environments.
  • Identify customer needs and translate them into practical technical solutions.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for complex application issues and train sales on the solution.
Technical Expertise
  • Apply knowledge of fastening and assembly processes to solve customer manufacturing challenges.
  • Troubleshoot and support systems involving:
    • PLCs and factory controls
    • Electromechanical systems
    • Servo motors and motion profiles
    • Industrial sensors
    • Pneumatic systems and logic
    • MES and work-cell controls
    • Software and communication protocols

  • Ensure solutions meet applicable safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
Cross Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with Sales to identify opportunities and develop technically sound solutions.
  • Work with Product Management and Marketing to communicate customer needs, application trends, and competitive insights.
  • Provide technical feedback to influence product development, usability, and serviceability.
  • Collaborate with engineering and development partners to ensure Mountz products integrate effectively into customer factory environments.
  • Create and contribute to application notes, technical documentation, training materials, and demonstrations.
Continuous Improvement & Team Development
  • Help establish and improve Applications Engineering processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of technical training programs and onboarding materials for future Applications Engineers.
  • Share technical knowledge and mentor other engineers as the team grows.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the consistency, scalability, and effectiveness of Mountz's customer-facing technical support.
Growth Opportunity

This position is designed for an application engineer who wants to grow beyond an individual contributor role.

As the Applications Engineering organization expands, the successful candidate will have opportunities to:
  • Take ownership of strategic applications initiatives.
  • Mentor and train newer Applications Engineers.
  • Lead customer integration projects and technical programs.
  • Help establish Applications Engineering processes and KPIs.
  • Take on increasing responsibility for team coordination and development.
  • Potentially grow into an Applications Engineering Manager role as the organization and business needs evolve.

Prior management experience is not required. Demonstrated technical leadership, initiative, communication skills, and the ability to develop others will be highly valued.

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
