We are seeking a hands-on Business Data Analyst contractor to join an exciting, fast-moving analytics team at the forefront of data-driven decision-making. In this role, you will work directly alongside product managers, marketers, and business stakeholders to surface insights that fuel growth and guide strategy. You will tackle complex analytical challenges with creativity and rigor, leveraging industry-leading tools and technologies to deliver solutions that have a real impact on the business.This is not a passive reporting role. Duties and Responsibilities
- Partner with product managers, marketers, and business leaders to identify analytical opportunities and define key metrics.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and analytical models using SQL and large-scale distributed systems.
- Develop and own business-facing dashboards and reporting tools using Tableau and similar BI platforms.
- Apply advanced quantitative analysis techniques to evaluate business performance, user behavior, and growth opportunities.
- Communicate complex analytical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders through written reports and presentations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility across teams.
- Contribute to a culture of data literacy and best practices within the analytics organization.
Required Experience & Skills
- 4+ years of experience in quantitative analysis or a closely related data-focused role.
- Proficiency in SQL, including experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.
- Hands-on experience with Tableau or comparable BI/data visualization tools.
- Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to translate complex technical findings for diverse audiences.
- Experience with Python or a similar high-level programming language for data analysis and automation.
- Experience with R or similar statistical analysis software.
- Familiarity with Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, HBase, and/or related MapReduce technologies.
- Experience with large-scale MPP systems such as Vertica or Amazon Redshift.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience working in a fintech, SaaS, or consumer technology environment.
- Exposure to ggplot2 or other data visualization libraries within R.
- Familiarity with agile or product-led development environments.
- A genuine passion for data, analytics culture, and continuous learning.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related discipline is preferred. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.Pay & Benefits Summary
