As a Lead Software Engineer - Java/AWS at JPMorgan Chase within Commercial & Investment Bank - Security Services, you will be an integral part of an agile team that enhances, builds, and delivers trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will conduct critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas, supporting the firm's business objectives.

Job Responsibilities
  • Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond routine approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
  • Develop secure, high-quality production code; review and debug code written by others.
  • Set up and manage Proofs of Concept (POCs) to evaluate new technologies and methodologies, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical requirements.
  • Drive adoption of best practices in software development and AI integration, maintaining high standards of quality, security, and efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability of software applications and systems.
  • Lead technical designs and collaborate with geographically distributed analysts and developers responsible for the program's software solutions engineering function.
  • Work with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Contribute to a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficient in coding in one or more object-oriented languages, including Java 17 with Spring Boot.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Experience building enterprise applications with high availability and performance using Java, Spring, Kafka, EKS, Distributed Cache.
  • Strong hands-on experience designing and building solutions on AWS, including services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, ELB, ECS, EKS.
  • Exposure to building AI/ML driven applications to drive business goals.
  • Track record of continuous learning mindset

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Keen interest in staying ahead of modern development trends and experimenting with emerging technologies such as AI and Machine Learning.
  • In-Depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Hands-on experience with Microservices, Data usage patterns, and Event-Driven Architecture (EDA).
  • Knowledge of cloud architecture; ability to capture and share best-practice knowledge across teams.
  • Ability to back decisions with research and articulate several options with pros and cons.
