Senior Data Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead enterprise data architecture and digital transformation initiatives.

This role will serve as the central technical authority responsible for designing, deploying, and managing modern cloud-based data systems using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, and the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical architecture skills with excellent communication ability to translate business requirements into secure, scalable cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Microsoft Fabric & Azure Data Architecture

• Architect and manage secure, scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric.
• Lead migration of legacy on-premise databases to Azure.
• Design robust data modeling layers integrated with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Build automated ingestion processes across enterprise systems.
• Implement governance, role-based access controls, and security best practices.
• Ensure platform performance, scalability, and reliability.

2. Business Intelligence - Power BI

• Develop and maintain enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards.
• Implement row-level security (RLS) and workspace access controls.
• Manage data refresh schedules and optimize report performance.
• Translate executive KPIs into actionable dashboards.
• Support internal and external reporting needs securely.

3. Database Administration

• Configure and maintain relational databases supporting operational systems.
• Manage indexing, triggers, stored procedures, permissions, and backups.
• Develop automated SQL maintenance and optimization routines.
• Monitor database health and enforce strict access governance.

4. Power Platform & Process Digitization

• Automate business processes using Power Automate.
• Develop internal applications using Power Apps.
• Deploy external organizational portals using Power Pages.
• Drive enterprise-wide process digitization initiatives.

5. Stakeholder Engagement & Infrastructure Support

• Gather business requirements and translate them into secure technical designs.
• Act as primary liaison between business units and IT.
• Manage access requests, data engineering support queues, and upgrades.
• Provide clear documentation and architecture diagrams.
• Ensure smooth cross-department collaboration.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering or cloud data architecture.
• Strong hands-on expertise with:
  • Microsoft Fabric
  • Azure Data Services
  • Power BI (Advanced level)
  • Power Automate
  • Power Apps
  • Power Pages
• Advanced SQL and relational database expertise.
• Proven experience migrating on-prem systems to Azure.
• Strong knowledge of data governance and security best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Must be based in the Americas.
• Must be willing to relocate to George Town and work onsite.

• Experience integrating with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
