**Job Description**
We are seeking a Workstation Specialist to provide advanced PC installation, technical support, troubleshooting, and field support services for users across multiple office and field locations. The selected candidate will work closely with the IT team to support district offices, county offices, construction field site offices, stockpile locations, driver service centers, welcome centers, traffic management centers, and other remote locations throughout the assigned region.
This position is based in Allentown, PA, and requires regular travel throughout nearby counties, including Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, and Schuylkill. The candidate must be comfortable working at active construction and field sites, around large fleet equipment, and in various office and remote-site environments.
The Workstation Specialist will provide Tier 2 hardware and software support, assist with workstation deployments, troubleshoot technical issues, support network connectivity, manage equipment inventory, and document technical processes. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with PC hardware, laptops, docking stations, multifunction printers, LAN/WAN environments, cabling, ticketing systems, and end-user support.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Install, configure, and troubleshoot PC hardware, software, peripherals, laptops, docking stations, and multifunction printers.
* Provide onsite and remote technical support to end users by phone, email, and in person.
* Connect and disconnect PCs and printers to network or local devices.
* Install and configure Windows, business applications, network drivers, and other required software.
* Support workstation imaging, testing, deployment planning, scheduling, and tracking.
* Troubleshoot issues related to SCCM software pushes and workstation compliance.
* Create, update, and manage tickets and asset records using Remedy or similar tools.
* Assign workstation names and assist with enterprise account-related requests using Active Directory.
* Install, troubleshoot, and support Cat5e/Cat6 cable runs, terminations, and patching.
* Install and troubleshoot Cisco VPN routers and Cisco AnyConnect VPN software.
* Configure, issue, troubleshoot, and support mobile iOS devices, including iPhones and iPads.
* Monitor and update devices through AirWatch Console.
* Maintain complete and accurate equipment inventory records.
* Receive, unpack, pack, inventory, transfer, and coordinate delivery or pickup of IT equipment.
* Support telecommunications equipment and services, including VoIP phones, analog lines, audio/video conferencing equipment, smartboards, web conferencing, and unified communications tools.
* Support diagnostic software, mobile devices, adapters, patches, drivers, firmware, and related updates.
* Train end users on newly deployed equipment, software, and technical processes.
* Document new technical procedures and update existing documentation as needed.
* Identify opportunities for improving support efficiency and operational processes.
**Required Skills and Experience**
* Valid driver’s license.
* Personal vehicle and willingness to travel throughout the assigned region and other areas of Pennsylvania when needed.
* Ability and flexibility to travel for trainings, meetings, field support, and assistance to other districts.
* 2+ years of experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting PC hardware and software in an enterprise LAN/WAN environment.
* 2+ years of experience installing and supporting laptops and docking stations.
* 2+ years of experience installing and supporting multifunction print devices.
* 2+ years of experience using Remedy or a similar ticketing system.
* 2+ years of experience with premise cabling, including Cat5e/Cat6 installation and terminations.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established standard operating procedures.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Excellent customer service and end-user support skills.
**Desired Skills**
* Experience with Cisco VPN router installation and support.
* Experience with Active Directory.
* Experience with Hyena System Management Software.
* Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager.
* Experience creating technical documentation or process documentation.
* Experience supporting or leading team deployments.
* Basic project management experience.
* Ability to read and interpret architectural and electrical plan sets related to remodeling or new facility construction.
**Travel Requirements**
This role requires regular travel throughout the assigned regional coverage area, including Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, and Schuylkill counties. The candidate must be able to travel to offices, field sites, stockpiles, construction locations, and other remote locations.
The candidate must have a valid driver’s license, access to a personal vehicle, and the ability to transport computer equipment such as laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, and related peripherals.
**Interview and Work Requirements**
First-round interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams. Candidates must be local to the Allentown, PA area and must be able to report onsite as required.
