Job Title: Software Systems Engineer

Location: Remote

Summary: Red Cedar Consultancy is seeking an experienced Software Systems Engineer (Intermediate) to support our federal clients. The role involves providing specialized technical expertise in software and system design, development, testing, integration, and troubleshooting. The candidate will also support operating system planning, performance analysis, capacity planning, and technical documentation while collaborating with customers and system support teams to resolve complex technical issues and improve system efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Work under minimal direction while providing specialized technical expertise.
• Demonstrate specialized expertise across multiple systems and software disciplines.
• Apply general knowledge of related technical disciplines and understand their implications for applications.
• Perform in-depth analysis of systems software products.
• Provide technical support for systems software products.
• Analyze and resolve complex software and system problems.
• Support software and system design activities.
• Participate in software development activities.
• Perform software testing and validation.
• Support operational integration of systems software.
• Provide technical support to system users.
• Assist in planning and converting systems to new hardware and software products.
• Maintain knowledge of current software products and technologies.
• Debug and configure related software products.
• Perform operating system planning and evaluation.
• Conduct system performance analysis.
• Support system capacity planning.
• Assist in planning hardware upgrades.
• Work from technical specifications to develop or modify operating system applications.
• Assist with software design and coding.
• Perform or support benchmark testing.
• Debug software programs and operating system applications.
• Prepare and maintain software documentation.
• Coordinate with other system support groups to resolve technical problems.
• Assist in establishing technical standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve overall operating system efficiency.
• Prepare product documentation.
• Communicate directly with customers to gather information about system requirements.
• Work with customers to identify, analyze, and resolve system problems.

Requirements:

• Must have 8 years of experience in a relevant field, such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems/Technology.
• Must possess IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 3 (T3) at the time of proposal submission, as stated in the solicitation.
