Summary

Root was founded on the belief that car insurance is broken, and we set out to change it. We're harnessing the power of technology to revolutionize this archaic, complicated industry. Using machine learning and mobile telematic platforms, we've built one of the most innovative insurtech companies in the world.

The Opportunity

At Root, we're on a mission to improve the lives of our customers by offering better insurance solutions. We challenge ourselves to think differently to reimagine insurance - making it smarter, more equitable, and a better experience for all. Analytics sits at the center of this vision: disciplined, research-driven, and relentlessly focused on building products and partnerships our customers love.

Partnerships are one of Root's most important growth levers, enabling us to reach new customers through innovative distribution models. The Partner Analytics team is critical to this mission - powering data-driven decisions that help evaluate, optimize, and scale Root's partner portfolio.

As a Senior Analyst, Partner Analytics, you'll take ownership of analytical frameworks and models that guide partner performance measurement, deal evaluation, and onboarding optimization. You'll work cross-functionally with Business Development, Engineering, and Marketing to drive profitable partner growth, enhance reporting infrastructure, and deliver actionable insights that influence Root's partnership strategy.

This role reports to the Manager, Partner Analytics and is an opportunity for significant growth through mentoring analysts, shaping analytical best practices, and owning projects that directly impact Root's growth trajectory.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000 (Bonus & LTI eligible)

Root is a "work where it works best" company. This means we will support you working in whatever location that works best for you across the US.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Design and maintain scalable dashboards and performance reporting to measure partner health, funnel performance, and portfolio economics and drive action.
  • Support analytical workstreams for partner diligence, onboarding, and optimization - including forecasting and ROI modeling.
  • Build frameworks to evaluate partner economics versus expectations
  • Partner with Product, Business Development, and Marketing to evaluate new opportunities, test hypotheses, and guide investment decisions.
  • Design and execute experiments (A/B or quasi-experimental) to assess and improve partner conversion funnels.
  • Collaborate with data engineering to enhance data pipelines and ensure accurate, reliable partner reporting.
  • Translate technical insights into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.

What You Will Need to Succeed

  • 3-5 years of experience in analytics, decision science, or data strategy (experience in B2B2C analytics within the financial services space preferred).
  • Strong SQL skills and proficiency with BI tools (Tableau, Mode, Power BI).
  • Experience with statistical analysis, experimentation design, and AI-enabled tools preferred
  • Proven ability to structure ambiguous business questions into analytical frameworks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication - able to translate complex findings into actionable insights.
  • Detail-oriented with strong documentation and data hygiene habits.
  • High ownership mindset and comfort operating in fast-paced, evolving environments.

As part of Root's interview process, we kindly ask that all candidates be on camera for virtual interviews. This helps us create a more personal and engaging experience for both you and our interviewers. Being on camera is a standard requirement for our process and part of how we assess fit and communication style, so we do require it to move forward with any applicant's candidacy. If you have any concerns, feel free to let us know once you are contacted. We're happy to talk it through.
