Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET II) to join a high-performing engineering team focused on modern web applications, APIs, and emerging AI-powered solutions. This role is ideal for a hands-on automation engineer who enjoys building and enhancing test frameworks, validating complex systems, and collaborating closely with developers to ensure high-quality software delivery.
The successful candidate will have strong Python automation skills, experience testing web and API-based applications, and a passion for continuous learning in rapidly evolving technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute automated test solutions for web applications, APIs, and backend services
- Build, maintain, and enhance automation frameworks using Python and modern testing tools
- Develop and execute functional, integration, regression, and system testing strategies
- Validate APIs, microservices, and data flows across complex application environments
- Work with structured and unstructured data sources to validate application functionality and data integrity
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, product teams, and QA professionals throughout the SDLC
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, requirement reviews, and test planning activities
- Support CI/CD processes and help integrate automated testing into release pipelines
- Create test plans, test cases, test data, and quality metrics
- Troubleshoot defects, perform root cause analysis, and communicate quality risks effectively
- Contribute to quality engineering efforts involving modern AI-enabled applications and intelligent workflows
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering, Test Automation, or SDET roles
- Strong hands-on experience with Python development and test automation
- Experience with PyTest and object-oriented programming principles
- Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks
- Experience testing REST APIs and microservices
- Experience with UI automation tools such as Playwright or Selenium
- Experience working with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and DevOps methodologies
- Experience working within Agile development environments
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience validating AI-powered or Generative AI applications
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), AI agents, and related technologies
- Understanding of prompt validation, response evaluation, and AI quality testing concepts
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
- Experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, K6, or similar technologies
- Experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Datadog, Splunk, New Relic, or CloudWatch
