Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Financial Systems RFP & Implementation Lead for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Sports Entertainment clients in Purchase, NY

Overview:

Our client is preparing to initiate a formal RFP process to modernize its financial/accounting systems. The organization is currently running on a legacy version of Lawson and is evaluating whether to upgrade or transition to a new ERP/financial platform. They are seeking an experienced financial systems professional to lead and support the RFP process and, if selected, continue into the implementation phase of the chosen solution. This role requires hands-on experience with financial system implementations, not just functional knowledge of a single application.

Key Responsibilities:

RFP Phase:
  • Lead and/or support the end-to-end RFP process for financial and accounting systems
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (Finance, Accounting, IT, Leadership) to gather business and technical requirements, define evaluation criteria, review vendor responses, and participate in vendor evaluations
  • Provide guidance on system modernization strategy, including upgrade vs. replacement considerations
  • Support vendor demos, scoring, and recommendation development

Implementation Readiness / Transition:
  • Assist in planning for the implementation phase of the selected financial system
  • Provide subject matter expertise during system selection to ensure implementation feasibility
  • If extended, play a hands-on role in implementation planning, integration considerations, data migration planning, and stakeholder coordination

Required Experience & Profile:
  • 3-5+ years of experience in financial systems or ERP implementations (5+ preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience working on multiple implementations, not just a single system
  • Strong background with ERP or financial systems such as Lawson, SAP, or similar platforms
  • Experience in implementation consulting, systems integration, or working with software partners is highly valued
  • Exposure to RFP processes is a plus, but deep financial systems experience is more important than formal RFP-writing expertise
  • Hands-on, practical experience preferred over purely advisory or entry-level profiles
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
