Job Title: Electrical Designer – Systems Integration
Location: Mossville, IL – Building AC (Onsite)
Duration: 2+ Years (Long-Term Contract)
Role Overview
seeking an Electrical Designer – Systems Integration to support the development and integration of electrical systems for large mining trucks and highway trucks.
This role focuses on machine-level electrical schematic development, system integration, and collaboration with wiring harness teams to deliver complete and production-ready electrical solutions.
The ideal candidate will translate product requirements into electrical schematics, support system-level analysis, and participate in validation and build activities. The role is design-heavy, with most time spent developing electrical schematics using Creo Schematics.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical System Design & Integration
- Develop machine-level electrical schematics based on product and platform requirements
- Select and apply:
- Wire gauges
- Fuses and circuit breakers
- Power distribution and protection strategies
- Ensure electrical designs comply with ISO standards
- Conduct electrical load analysis and evaluate system robustness
- Participate in Electrical Design FMEA activities
Digitized Architecture Development
- Support migration from relay-based architectures to ECU-based digital systems
- Integrate electrical inputs into ECUs and support control strategy development
- Work with communication protocols such as:
- CAN / J1939 networks (Dash 14 / Dash 15 variants)
- Two-wire Ethernet for next-generation platforms
- Contribute to ECU topology and communication network design
Schematic & Harness Development
- Develop system-level electrical architecture diagrams (Visio / Draw.io)
- Translate architecture designs into Creo Schematics / Creo Electrical
- Release production-ready electrical schematics
- Collaborate closely with harness teams to:
- Deliver accurate schematic designs
- Produce harness manufacturing documentation (“bundle stuffing”)
- Support harness installation audits and machine build activities
Analysis, Validation & Support
- Perform electrical load studies and document results
- Develop and execute electrical functional tests
- Participate in design reviews and technical discussions
- Provide integration and build support during machine development
Work Breakdown
- 80% Electrical schematic design and development (Creo Schematics)
- 20% System engineering tasks (FMEAs, load analysis, reviews, planning)

Technical Skills
- Strong experience with Electrical Schematic Design (Required)
- Hands-on experience with Creo Schematics or similar electrical CAD tools (Required)
- Understanding of:
- Electrical and electronic components
- Power distribution systems
- Wire routing and harness design
- Experience with vehicle or machine electrical systems
- Familiarity with CAN/J1939 communication networks
- Mechanical aptitude or hands-on technical interests is a plus
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred
- Associate’s degree with strong relevant experience will also be considered
