Duration: 12+ Months

Location: PA-Philadelphia, Hybrid 3-4 days onsite

Overview: Every Turnberry consultant belongs to a practice, an internal group of consultants and leaders with shared experience and expertise. As a Dev Ops Engineer, you will join Turnberry's Digital Modernization practice, where technology and strategy combine to deliver exceptional digital experiences, empowering organizations to thrive in today's digital market.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, implement, and analyze technical products and systems

Perform engineering design evaluations

May develop a range of products

Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures

Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job

Work under immediate supervision

Typically reports to a supervisor or manager

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and fix production software issues

Develop monitoring solutions, perform software maintenance and implement solutions

Develop standards and procedures for measuring product quality and release readiness

Make recommendations related to testing techniques and processes

Engineer is part of the NGAN Operations team that is responsible for vCMTS Platform Stand up - Software installation, system and network maintenance

Change implementation - system upgrades, RMA, automation (scripting)

Problem Management - Identify service impacting trends and work with the development teams to implement long term solutions

Incident Mitigation - On call rotation to mitigate incident

Work is performed in a 24/7 ops environment

Must be available to work weekends and holidays on an on call calendar rotation basis, like rest of the team

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering and 6 to 8 years of experience in the field or in a related area

Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field

Experience automating the deployment of software using tools such as Puppet, Chef, and Ansible

Experience of Jenkins for continuous integration

Ability to utilize and work with a large variety of open source technologies and tools

Experience with systems and IT operations

Data management skills with an emphasis in automation tools

Experienced with revision control systems including branching and tagging strategies using Github

Able to build strong relationships with QA and Software Engineers in an operational capacity to maintain continuous delivery of critically systems

Experience provisioning and managing applications in both virtual and cloud infrastructures (AWS and Openstack preferred)

Strong skillset in deployment and network operations, or sys-admins who have a background in scripting and coding

Container experience in Docker and Kubernetes

3+ years of production operations experience in a 24x7 Environment

Strong understanding of the following technologies:

Unix/Linux Environments

Scripting and automation (bash, python, etc...)

Proven experience and skill with network troubleshooting and configuration (Certifications - CCNA / JNCIA optional)

Proven experience and skill with server hardware and software troubleshooting

Kubernetes, Jenkins, Ansible, and Git experience is a plus

Experience building and replacing system hardware

Experience defining, implementing, and monitoring IT services is a plus

Exposure and familiarity with new product integration

Network troubleshooting and configuration (Juniper, Arista or Cisco Networking devices)

Work with Product and Project Management to integrate and operationalize new products

Handles incident mitigation for the virtual cable modem termination systems (vCMTS)

Partners with internal regional engineering teams to identify product reliability improvements and build automation tools

Change implementation duties will include system upgrades, risk management, automation (scripting in Python, Bash, etc.)

Participate in on-call rotation with rest of the team

Must be willing and able to work after regular business hours (this can include weekends and holidays)

The salary range for this role is $100,000 to $140,000 or the hourly equivalent.
