Position Summary
The BI Data Engineer IV is an advanced-level role responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing Business Intelligence (BI) data solutions, including data warehouses, data marts, and info-marts, while ensuring high levels of availability. This position leverages extensive experience in data warehouse analysis and design to develop new information marts and enhance existing data solutions.

The BI Data Engineer IV leads the design and implementation of complex distributed data systems, streaming integrations, and structured storage solutions (e.g., Delta Lake, Data Lakehouse). The role also champions DevOps practices (infrastructure as code, GitOps), ensuring governance, security, and scalability. Additionally, this position involves mentoring team members and influencing strategic technical direction.
Requirements
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor s degree required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in database programming within a medium to large organization with a structured IT department.
  • Experience shaping strategic data architecture, building cross-functional consensus, and aligning engineering practices with enterprise data strategy.
  • Healthcare payer industry experience is required.
  • Experience with Delta Lake, Data Lakehouse, DevOps practices (infrastructure as code, GitOps)
  • Full understanding of SQL with the ability to create complex SQL statements across various data structures.
  • Design, develop, implement, and support SQL-related products, including SSIS packages, Agent jobs, RDLC solutions, and other related solutions.
  • Lead the creation of normalized and dimensional data models (logical and physical) to support reporting, analytics, and data integration.
  • Design, create, and modify database tables, indexes, constraints, links, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Develop implementation plans for incrementally building the target data architecture.
  • Develop logical and physical architectural data diagrams.
