Sr.Data Collection Quality Control Specialist
Hybrid in Providence, RI
The emergency medical services (EMS) data manager is responsible for the oversight,
management, analysis, and reporting of EMS data to support clinical quality
improvement, regulatory compliance, system performance monitoring, and strategic
planning. This position ensures accurate data collection and submission in accordance
with state and national standards (including the National EMS Information System or
NEMSIS), supports EMS agencies with data quality initiatives, and provides actionable
analytics to improve patient care outcomes across RI EMS.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
• Knowledge of public health practice, community engagement principles, social
and economic determinants of health, and principles of health and racial equity.
• Knowledge of and experience in public health programming and policy at the
local and national levels in relation to data management.
• Ability to manage time and multiple simultaneous tasks effectively and meet
multiple competing deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors,
associates, subordinates, public groups, and private and public agencies.
• Demonstrated ability to work with people and groups from a wide variety of
backgrounds and across differences in race, culture, nationality, age, gender,
sexual orientation, values, beliefs, learning styles, and literacy levels.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills as well as public speaking skills.
Preferred Skills/knowledge (not required):
• EMS background or licensure as an EMS practitioner
• Familiarity with EMS-specific data systems such as ImageTrend LLC, Biospatial,
NEMSIS, and NERIS.
Education:
• A master’s degree in public health, health administration, mathematics,
economics, information management, statistics, or a closely related field.
• A bachelor’s degree in public health, health administration, mathematics,
economics, information management, statistics, or a closely related field, and
experience working in a data management or analyst position
