Active Ingredient Technician

ApTask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking an Active Ingredient Technician with a pharmaceutical company. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity located in Athens, GA.

Responsibilities:

• Perform activities associated with the preparation of vaccine components in an aseptic clean room environment
• Utilize virus and cell culture techniques according to USDA regulations
• Ensure compliance to the Standard Operating Procedures during execution of processes
• Assist with training and coaching of current and new employees on required skills
• Complete and review in-process documentation for accuracy and compliance in a timely manner
• Maintain technical data and support documentation
• Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventative actions to address problems
• Escalate production flow disturbances
• Demonstrate a visible and tangible commitment to EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) programs and initiatives
• Participate and provide support to site projects and initiatives, including deviation and change control management
• Work a 4-10 hour day schedule, with overtime, weekend, and holiday work as required

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Rabies vaccination is required (provided by the company) and titer (blood) draws every 6 months
• Must have a flexible schedule
• Demonstrated strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Knowledge of clean room and aseptic techniques
• Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing Principles
• Basic math skills and equipment/automation troubleshooting skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and other database software systems
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve

Desired skills:

• Biology Degree or a related field
• One year or more of laboratory experience and/or manufacturing experience
• Background in a science field such as a vet clinic, pharmacy, or similar
• Production experience

Pay range: up to $20.00 per hour
