ADABAS Programmer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced ADABAS Programmer to develop, maintain, and support mainframe applications using ADABAS and Natural technologies. The candidate will work on enterprise-critical systems, perform enhancements, troubleshoot production issues, and support application modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using Adabas and Natural.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Write, test, and debug mainframe programs and batch jobs.
• Perform database design, data maintenance, and performance tuning.
• Support production systems and resolve application issues within SLA timelines.
• Work with JCL, batch processing, and scheduling tools.
• Participate in system integration testing and user acceptance testing.
• Prepare technical documentation and maintain coding standards.
• Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and infrastructure teams.
• Support migration, modernization, and maintenance projects.

Required Skills

• 4–8+ years of experience in Mainframe application development.
• Strong hands-on experience with Adabas and Natural.
• Good knowledge of IBM z/OS environment.
• Experience with JCL, batch job processing, and utilities.
• Understanding of VSAM, CICS, and mainframe file systems.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle and change management processes.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Experience in Banking, Insurance, Government, or Enterprise mainframe environments.
• Exposure to application modernization or migration projects is a plus.
• Knowledge of version control and deployment processes.

Nice to Have

• Experience with COBOL and legacy system integrations.
• Familiarity with API integration and modern enterprise architectures.
• Understanding of Agile delivery methodologies.
