The Work

The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer designs, develops, and maintains data-driven solutions and analytics platforms to empower decision-makers with actionable insights. This role is responsible for creating and optimizing data models, reports, and dashboards, leveraging tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik, while ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders to understand reporting and data visualization needs.
  • Interpret complex datasets and provide insights that support decision-making.
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
  • Create scalable, user-friendly reporting solutions to meet the needs of different business units.
  • Design and implement efficient data models for both structured and unstructured data to enable analytical and operational workloads.
  • Optimize data models for performance in querying and reporting.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to extract data from various sources into a centralized data warehouse or BI platform.
  • Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and consistency of data pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain BI solutions using tools like Power BI, Tableau, QlikView, or SAP BusinessObjects, and coding languages like SQL, DAX, and Python.
  • Stay updated on BI technologies and recommend tool or process enhancements.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues related to BI systems, reports, and dashboards.
  • Optimize reporting processes for speed, performance, and scalability.
  • Respond promptly to business requests and troubleshoot technical issues related to reports or dashboards.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Here's What You Need
  • 8 years of experience creating reports or data analysis, using Tableau, PowerBI, SQL, Cognos, Business Objects, QlikView or similar.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills:
  • Must possess problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Analyzing and interpreting raw data.
  • Requirements gathering and documentation.
  • Business process improvement and system design.
  • Ability to respond effectively to customers with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to handle and manage multiple tasks at any one time.
  • Ability to forge new relationships, individual and teaming in nature.
  • Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team.



Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4 years of experience working with very large scale data sets in Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Snowflake, or similar.
  • 2 years of experience working with Informatica ETL tools.
  • 2 years of experience working with Tableau creating dashboards and reports.
  • 2 years of experience working with PowerBI creating dashboards and reports.

Working Conditions
  • Professional office environment, with the ability to work on site in the main office in Austin, TX.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
