Title : Elasticsearch Administrator
Location : NYC (Hybrid)
Duration : Long Term
Key Responsibilities
Install, configure, and maintain Elasticsearch clusters in production environments.
Monitor cluster health, performance, and availability.
Manage indexing, sharding, replication, and data lifecycle policies.
Perform backup, restore, and disaster recovery operations.
Troubleshoot cluster issues, node failures, and search performance bottlenecks.
Optimize search queries and indexing performance.
Implement security features including authentication, authorization, TLS/SSL, and role-based access control.
Configure and manage Kibana dashboards and visualizations.
Work with development and DevOps teams to support application requirements.
Upgrade Elasticsearch clusters with minimal downtime.
Required Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, Kibana, Logstash, and Beats (ELK Stack).
Experience in cluster administration, scaling, and performance tuning.
Knowledge of index management, mappings, analyzers, and query DSL.
Experience with Linux administration and shell scripting.
Understanding of distributed systems and high-availability architectures.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Elastic Stack Monitoring.
Knowledge of security best practices and certificate management.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Elasticsearch certification is an added advantage.
Experience with large-scale log analytics and observability solutions.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
