CTG is seeking to fill a Software Engineer III opening for our client.
Location: Buffalo, NY
Duration: 12 months
Primary Responsibilities:- Design, develop, maintain, and support complex enterprise systems and infrastructure.
- Administer Linux and Windows Server environments, including RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, patching, certificates, storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Automate infrastructure and deployments using PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, Automic, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Support Git/GitLab, Azure DevOps, infrastructure as code, server provisioning, configuration management, and lifecycle management.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, secure, and optimize systems using tools such as Kibana, ELK, Dynatrace, Splunk, and Graylog.
- Support vulnerability management, identity and access management, OS hardening, incident response, root-cause analysis, and compliance.
- Lead technical analysis, system design, development, testing, debugging, and implementation for complex projects.
- Develop technical specifications and documentation; evaluate technologies and recommend system improvements.
- Lead project activities, coordinate development tasks, and mentor less experienced technical resources.
Scope of Responsibilities:- Work independently on complex technical initiatives and serve as a technical lead on projects.
- Collaborate with Technology, Operations, Application teams, business users, vendors, and senior management.
- Manage technical deliverables, project milestones, documentation, and issue resolution.
Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:- Direct and monitor less experienced resources and provide technical guidance and mentoring.
- May coordinate project activities and monitor assigned staff performance.
Education and Experience Required:- Associate degree plus 6 years of systems analysis/application development experience, or 8 years of combined education/work experience including 6 years of relevant experience.
- Strong Linux and Windows Server administration experience.
- Experience with Active Directory, server patching, certificates, networking, and enterprise infrastructure.
- Experience with PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Automic, CI/CD, Git/GitLab, Terraform, and version control.
- Experience with vulnerability management, IAM/AD/LDAP/RBAC, monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, organizational, leadership, and project coordination skills.
Education and Experience Preferred:- Experience supporting complex enterprise or financial systems.
- Advanced knowledge of integrated applications and infrastructure environments.
- Experience working independently, managing multiple complex projects, and mentoring technical staff.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
