Position Summary...

What you'll do...
As a Software Engineer III, you will design and implement payment allocation logic for Transaction and Post Transaction system. You will develop and maintain REST APIs with strong emphasis on performance, scalability, idempotency, and resiliency and own services end-to-end - deployment, monitoring, observability, and production issue resolution. This role is for backend engineering, with close collaboration across the broader team such as backend services, Front end, Orchestration Layer, product, and design team to deliver reliable, scalable, and intuitive experiences for millions of Walmart customers. You will also be closely working with architects to review/present the new designs.

We create lightning-fast, reliable, and scalable payment experiences that delight customers and drive business growth. From adding items to checkout completion with different payments, our systems power the entire shopping journey with sub-second response times and 99.99% uptime. What you'll bring:
  • 3+ years of backend engineering experience with strong hands-on expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
  • Experience building transactional systems with strict reliability, consistency, and latency requirements.
  • Solid understanding of REST API design, distributed systems patterns, and failure handling (timeouts, retries, circuit breakers).
  • Experience with Cosmos DB or other NoSQL data stores in high-scale production environments.
  • Strong DevOps mindset - comfortable with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, and production support.

The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...
