Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Data Engineering Technical Lead with strong hands-on expertise in Snowflake-based cloud data warehousing and modern ELT development using dbt (Core or Cloud).
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing scalable, production-grade data pipelines and will provide technical leadership, architecture guidance, and mentorship to data engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical design and development of scalable data engineering and ELT solutions using Snowflake and dbt.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, data models, transformations, and ELT pipelines.
- Implement dbt incremental models, snapshots, testing, documentation, and deployment strategies.
- Perform Snowflake performance tuning and cost optimization.
- Design and maintain production-grade data pipelines and data warehouse solutions.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines for dbt and follow DevOps-driven deployment practices.
- Integrate and manage data orchestration tools for reliable pipeline execution.
- Establish automated data quality, testing, monitoring, and observability frameworks.
- Apply Snowflake security best practices, including access controls, roles, permissions, and secure data handling.
- Use Git/version control and follow established branching and code-review practices.
- Participate in and lead technical design and architecture reviews.
- Mentor data engineers and provide technical guidance to offshore team members.
- Work effectively in an onsite-offshore delivery model and coordinate with offshore teams to drive successful project delivery.
- Troubleshoot production issues and ensure the reliability and performance of data pipelines.
Required Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake – Mandatory
- Strong hands-on experience with dbt (Core or Cloud) – Mandatory
- Advanced SQL development and optimization
- Strong experience with ELT/data pipeline development
- Experience with dbt incremental models and snapshots
- Snowflake performance tuning and cost optimization
- Experience implementing CI/CD for dbt
- Knowledge of data orchestration tools
