Security Analyst I

Introduction

The State of Wisconsin is looking for a Security Analyst I to join their team. This entry-level role will be responsible for monitoring the network, systems, and security tools to ensure the safety and integrity of the organization's data and assets.

Responsibilities

• Regularly review and monitor Security Operation Center tools to ensure operational health
• Monitor real-time security dashboards and system logs, perform initial triage on alerts
• Review routine vulnerability scan results and assist in tracking known weaknesses
• Accurately document all security events, investigations, and remediation steps
• Escalate complex, high-priority, or unverified threats to senior SOC staff
• Collaborate with IT, system administration, and other teams during investigations and incident resolution

Requirements

Required Skills:

• IT Professional – 1+ years
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Preferred Skills:

• CISSP or equivalent

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• Basic understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S)
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
• Good written and verbal communication skills
