The Role
As the Area Chief Engineer, you provide leadership and oversight for engineering and maintenance operations across both DoubleTree by Hilton - Arboretum Austin NW and DoubleTree by Hilton Austin University Area properties. You ensure building systems, equipment, preventative maintenance programs, and safety standards are consistently maintained while supporting property leadership teams and engineering staff.

What You Will Be Doing
Provide leadership and support to Chief Engineers and maintenance teams across both hotels
Ensure proper operation and maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems
Develop, implement, and monitor preventative maintenance programs to maximize asset performance and reduce downtime
Conduct regular property inspections and identify operational, maintenance, and capital improvement needs
Partner with General Managers and property leadership teams to support operational goals and guest satisfaction
Assist with engineering department budgeting, capital planning, forecasting, and cost control initiatives
Manage contractor and vendor relationships while ensuring quality workmanship and compliance standards
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and company safety regulations and requirements
Provide technical expertise, troubleshooting support, and guidance on complex repair and maintenance issues
Support property renovations, equipment upgrades, and capital improvement projects
Review and analyze engineering performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain emergency response procedures and provide leadership during critical incidents and property emergencies
Travel regularly between assigned properties to provide operational support and oversight

What Makes You You
Previous Chief Engineer, Area Engineer, Regional Engineer, or multi-property engineering leadership experience required
Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building automation systems
Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop engineering and maintenance teams
Strong organizational, project management, and budget management skills
Experience with preventative maintenance programs, capital planning, and asset preservation
Ability to troubleshoot complex building system issues and provide effective solutions
Knowledge of safety regulations, life safety systems, and regulatory compliance requirements
Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills
Ability to travel between properties as needed
Ability to lift, move, climb, and work with tools and equipment when necessary
Flexible to work any shifts including holidays, weekends, and emergency situations
