Job Purpose: The Department of Children and Families (the "Department" or "DCF") is seeking qualified candidates that will assist the Office of Information Technology (OITS) in their daily operations, support, and services. The services requested in the following Collaboration will be procured in accordance with the Department of Management Services (DMS) State Term Contract (STC). Qualifications Education - Bachelor s or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field. Or equivalent work experience. (Required). Certifications - SQL Server, AI (Highly Suggested) Required Experience This position requires the following experience and/or knowledge: 5+ years of experience in Azure SQL Database, Synapse Analytics, ETL, Synapse pipeline/Azure Data Factory, and Dedicated SQL Pools. 5+ years of experience in DDL, DML T-SQL skills, advanced stored procedure writing skills, tables, primary keys, foreign keys, constraints, indexes, transactions, process logging, and error handling. 4+ years of experience in data architecture design principles, methodologies, and best practices. 3+ years of experience in data governance principles and compliance requirements related to data security and privacy. 3+ years of experience in integrating data from various sources and managing large data pipelines. 2+ years of experience in cloud computing concepts, particularly in Microsoft Azure, including storage solutions and computing capabilities. 1+ years of Experience with programming languages such as Python. 1+ years of experience in LLM Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex data challenges. Ability to design and implement robust, scalable, and efficient data architectures. Ability to provide excellent customer support; meticulous quality of work and work product. Primary Job Duties and Tasks Collaborate with stakeholders and development teams to define project scope, gather requirements, and prioritize deliverables. Design and implement data architectures that align with business objectives, leveraging Azure SQL Database, Azure Synapse Analytics, LLM integration, and related Azure data services. Manage and optimize Dedicated SQL Pools in Azure Synapse to support large-scale data warehousing and analytics workloads. Design, develop, and maintain databases using Azure SQL and Azure SQL Managed Instance, ensuring performance, scalability, availability, and security. Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and views. Optimize database performance by analyzing queries, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing effective tuning and troubleshooting strategies to ensure reliability and efficiency. Build and manage ETL/ELT pipelines using Synapse Pipelines or equivalent tools to support reliable and efficient data integration. Create and maintain scalable data models to support reporting, analytics, and downstream applications. Implement data governance practices, including data quality, lineage, and cataloging. Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with applicable standards and organizational policies. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement tuning strategies to improve efficiency. Support deployment processes, including CI/CD pipelines and version control for database objects. Maintain technical documentation, including system design, data flows, and operational procedures. Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and best practices to improve data platform capabilities. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members and support cross-functional teams. |
