Position Summary Citadel Security USA is seeking a dependable Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer to provide overnight security services at a residential apartment community in Columbia, Missouri. This position is responsible for helping maintain a secure environment through routine patrols, controlled property access, and professional interaction with residents and authorized visitors.
The ideal candidate is observant, dependable, and comfortable working independently while maintaining a visible security presence throughout the property.
Key Responsibilities - Conduct routine foot patrols throughout the apartment community during assigned shifts.
- Monitor entrances and common areas to help maintain controlled access to the property.
- Prevent unauthorized individuals from entering or remaining on the premises.
- Observe and report suspicious activity, property damage, or safety concerns.
- Complete detailed and accurate activity logs, incident reports, and daily documentation.
- Respond appropriately to security concerns and notify supervisors when necessary.
- Maintain a professional appearance and courteous demeanor while interacting with residents, guests, contractors, and property management.
- Help promote a safe and welcoming living environment through consistent security presence.
- Follow all site-specific procedures and company policies.
Required Qualifications - Active Guard Card required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English.
- Ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports.
- Strong observational skills and sound judgment.
- Reliable transportation to and from the assigned work location.
- Ability to work overnight shifts as scheduled.
Preferred Qualifications - Previous experience in residential, apartment, or property security preferred.
- Experience in performing access control and routine patrols.
- Strong customer service and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional while handling routine security situations.
Physical Requirements - Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to perform frequent foot patrols throughout the property.
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions as needed.
- Ability to lift to 25 pounds occasionally.
